Add a licence file

Business and Enterprise features for teams on a self-hosted server need a licence file. What it covers and what happens when it runs out: Licensing of self-hosted servers.
1. Mount the file
Section titled “1. Mount the file”Put the file next to docker-compose.yml, and point STERNWAY_LICENCE at it in a docker-compose.override.yml:
services: server: environment: STERNWAY_LICENCE: /licence/sternway.licence volumes: - ./sternway.licence:/licence/sternway.licence:roThen run docker compose up -d.
The licence names the server addresses it’s valid for. If STERNWAY_PUBLIC_URL isn’t one of them, it counts as
expired.
2. Check it
Section titled “2. Check it”Teams › Licence in the app shows its state. The server reads the file at start and every hour, so a newer file takes effect within the hour without a restart.
If the clock was wrong
Section titled “If the clock was wrong”The licence keeps its own record of the time. If you fixed a wrong server clock and the licence won’t accept the corrected time, reset that record. The reset is recorded in the audit log.
