Keep work running with tmux

If the app is ended, only the view goes. The work carries on in tmux, and the next connection attaches to it with the screen as you left it.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”The host needs tmux installed (sudo apt install tmux or similar).
1. Turn it on for a host
Section titled “1. Turn it on for a host”- In the host’s editor, under Advanced, turn on Keep this session on the server.
- Leave tmux session name empty to make one from the label (
web-01 (prod)becomesweb-01-prod), or use letters, digits,-and_. - Connect.
Sternway checks for tmux on a separate channel, then types tmux new-session -A -s <name>, which attaches or
creates the session. If tmux is missing, the session stays a plain shell and a line above the keys says so. A forced
command or restricted shell never answers the check, so the session stays plain there too.
For one session only, use Terminal tools › Keep this session on the server.
2. Pick a tmux session
Section titled “2. Pick a tmux session”A host card’s ⋯ › tmux sessions, or Terminal tools › tmux sessions, lists the host’s sessions with their windows, attached clients, last activity and last lines. Tap one to attach, or choose New or End.
On the desktop, the picker is in a host’s menu under tmux sessions…, and can also rename and search panes.
